THe project and how it went
During this project we did videos on how different sports activity's are done and what the physics were behind them. My group chose to do the physics of a lay up for our video for two reasons. The first reason we chose this was that one of our teammates was a basketball player so we had at least one player with inside information for playing the sport. The second reason was that it clearly showed many physics concepts we have bean studying so it allowed us to clearly show what was happening with out stretching the meanings of each concept.
The project was separated into four large chunks planning, filming, calculating and editing. Planing was the first step and helped set up the remainder of the steps. This is where we made things like story boards and the script so we could have a good under standing on what we need to do. After story boarding we had some issues with filming delays. The main one was all of the basketball courts on campus were being used by P.E. classes so we we're forced to work on calculations with minimum measurements so the day basically ended with nothing done. After that do nothing done we finally got to work on filming which went well and ended quickly this was due to my group making a great story board and Liz helping a lot working as good director so our work for that was quick. after the first day of filming we experienced some trouble by losing SD card which had all our video so we had to redo it all. After redoing it we moved on to editing. Editing was by far the longest part of the project having to both add the calculations and the voice over which took a long time it was also difficult due to our group having a couple of issues with the program we were using which would stack audio and cut weirdly when you were editing down film.

Concepts
projectile motion
Projectile motions is the path a falling object takes when it had horizontal velocity as well as vertical. You can find projectile motion with the equation Velocity horizontal= Distance horizontal/ time. If the time is not given you can find it with the equation Distance Vertical = 1/2*acceleration due to gravity*time^2. You can see this in every thing from the shot of a bullet to throwing a ball. It is also important to remember that this is based off and ideal environment with no friction so this will not always be exact.

momentum
Momentum is how hard it is to stop something. It is measured in kgm/s and can be calculated as momentum = Mass times acceleration. When ever you get hit by something and get knocked back that is when something has more momentum then you can hold back.

impulse
Impulse is force over time and is calculated by multiplying force by time and unit is newton seconds. You can experience this by jumping and crouching your knees with you landing which reduces the force emitted on your leg. Momentum and impulse are related to each other with the equation FS=MV. This is why when you move back when something hit makes being hit less forceful.

Reflection
The Science of sports videos was a very interesting project for STEM through it had little to do with engineering it had a lot of science, mathematics , and technology. This project helped me improve my cooperation abilities with companions. For example last project I had struggled with sharing my ideas but now in this project I could get ideas to most people in my group through doing and diagrams. I also improved on my leadership skills by being a bit more controlling on the information being put down and focusing my ideas on to the computer. This project I also learned the importance of time management during this project. I learned this after we on the last week of working on the video where we literally had nothing properly edited in on video so we had to rush through to get it finished. If we would have been more able to focus on the task at hand and disperse the work better I feel we could have I could have better completed this project with less stress and panic. I also feel that i could have learned the resources available to me better as the video editor wasn't very good we had to do some creative work arounds to complete it. For example we had to add ending slides to each of our calculations to say what the answer was because it was clear when portrayed in other ways. We also had many problems with audio as we had clips that would play on top of each other and other problems with cutting video clips. The final thing my group could have worked on over all was the organization. There was many parts during this project where we had to start from scratch or work for more time then was required by not knowing where things were or losing our SD card.
